Cardiometabolic syndrome (CMS) is a group of metabolic dysfunctions that are mainly characterized by insulin resistance, impaired glucose tolerance, dyslipidaemia, hypertension, and central adiposity. World Health Organization and the American Society of Endocrinology now recognized CMS as a disease entity. Patients with CMS have more chances to die from coronary heart disease, heart attack or stroke.
